The statistics below is provided by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC). It covers registered boats in the respective Southeast Asian countries except for Lao PDR.
Among the Southeast Asian countries with access to the sea, has marine capture fisheries, Indonesia had the highest number of registered boats at 924,894, comprising 133,474 non-powered boats and 791,420 powered boats (2021 data). Malaysia followed with 48,493 registered boats of which 3,089 were non-powered and 45,404 were powered. The third highest number was reported by Viet Nam with 35,099 registered boats, followed by Myanmar with 17,622 registered boats, Thailand with 10,107 registered boats, Cambodia with 7,613 registered boats, Philippines with 5,091 registered boats, Brunei Darussalam with 1,764 registered boats, and Singapore with 22 registered boats.
